Background

I have a Master's degree in Counselling Psychology, and an undergraduate degree in Sociology/Anthropology.  I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and a  professional member of the Ontario Association of Consultants, Counsellors, Psychometrists and Psychotherapists (OACCPP).  I am also a certified Spiritual Care Provider through the Canadian Association of Spiritual Care and am certified with Health Coaching Australia, and the National Association of Cancer Coaches.

As well,  I am a certified Childbirth Educator and have extensive experience supporting pregnancy, birthing and pregnancy loss as well as teaching parenting courses, working with family dynamics , and supporting parents and teens to navigate the challenges of adolescence.  I am a qualified couples counsellor  and palliative care therapist.  I have facilitated numerous support and educational programs, and I have a passionate commitment to helping individuals, couples and families optimize their capacity to support each other and thrive.

My research and practice interests focus on emotional healing, and optimizing growth.    I work extensively with clients who are struggling to find meaning and new ways of thinking about life and death.  While I have a general counselling  practice,  I specialize in supporting the challenges of living with cancer, and dealing with dying.  I was a co-developer of the Cancer Coaching program at the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation, facilitator of support groups for Breast Cancer Action and the Cancer Transitions Lance Armstrong program.  I have a private practice here in Ottawa and have clinic hours at the Centre for Healing Integration.
